Opening reception Friday, September 26, 6–9 PM
Touchstone invites viewers to reflect on their own material composition as a blend of geological minerals. In this installation, Kellie Bornhoft embeds sixteen of the most prevalent minerals found in the human body into large sheets of resin, mirroring their natural proportions. The shapes reference geological rock slices, revealing hidden interiors. Alongside these sculptural works, video projections of hand-drawn animations, poetic texts, and mineral footage weave together a multimedia environment. A layered soundscape fills the space, drawing textural connections between the human body and the Earth—what was once primordial matter, what is now embodied warmth, and what will soon return to elemental form.
