Alma Gallery presents Structuring Nature, an exhibition of black-and-white landscape photographs by Utah-based artist and educator Kevin Schley. The series examines humanity’s interaction with the natural world, balancing observation and critique through images that explore how we shape and are shaped by the environments we inhabit.
Schley’s practice reflects a transition from commercial to fine art photography, infusing technical mastery with conceptual depth. His works, rendered in striking monochrome, invite viewers to consider the tension between constructed order and organic form—between nature’s resilience and human intervention.
Schley, an MFA graduate and photography instructor, teaches across Utah’s colleges and universities and regularly leads workshops exploring the creative and ethical dimensions of the photographic medium.
