The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art presents Something from Everything, a dynamic exhibition that investigates the ever-expanding possibilities of materiality in 21st-century sculpture. Featuring a diverse array of artists working with unconventional processes and materials, this exhibition offers a bold look at how meaning is generated—and regenerated—through material experimentation.
From found objects and discarded industrial remnants to everyday items elevated through artistic reinvention, the works on view blur the line between the ordinary and the extraordinary. Through tactile construction and abstraction, artists in Something from Everything ask viewers to consider how matter itself can embody emotion, memory, labor, and cultural significance.
Exploring themes of formalism, commodification, and the metaphorical potential of material, the exhibition resists static interpretation. Instead, it emphasizes iteration and reinvention, inviting visitors to witness sculpture as an active and evolving practice—an experiment in perception and freedom.
