Kirsten Holt Beitler’s exhibition explores the tension between public persona and private reality in the age of the selfie. Drawing from an archive of social media images, Beitler transforms fleeting digital snapshots into enduring painted portraits. Her work blends humor, nostalgia, and vulnerability, reimagining the selfie as both contemporary artifact and timeless portraiture. With brushstrokes that capture both empathy and wit, these paintings invite viewers to reflect on the complicated dynamics of digital image culture and human connection.
