Bountiful
May 30 – August 15, 2025
Opening Reception: Friday, May 30, 2025, 6-8 pm
In Hermes, Icarus and the Fates, multidisciplinary artist Allyson Glenn explores the enduring power of myth and its evolution across borders and time. Drawing from ancient iconography, museum collections, and dreamlike encounters with both historical and imagined landscapes, Glenn uses painting, drawing, printmaking, and animation to reflect on the intersection of fiction, memory, and cultural identity.
As her practice shifts between media and from figuration to abstraction, Glenn seeks to compress sensations of time into two-dimensional form. Her layered compositions echo the fragmented but persistent presence of myth in our lives—how ancient stories shape the way we understand the world and ourselves.
