Patricia Kimball, a Salt Lake City native, is a distinguished artist with both a BA and an MFA from the University of Utah, who furthered her studies under artists David Dornan and Paul Davis. Specializing in oil paint, Kimball’s work encompasses figurative and landscape stylizations. Her compositions exhibit a minimalist influence, drawing inspiration from Agnes Martin and Joan Mitchell, particularly in her use of stripes and colors. Kimball’s approach, which involves painting directly from life, captures what she perceives as beautiful. Her works have been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout Utah, and she is currently represented by the Phillips Gallery in Salt Lake City.
