Velázquez. El Greco. Goya. Sorolla. Zurbarán. Marvel at the wonders of the Spanish-speaking world from Andalusia to the Andes Mountains as you look through the eyes of some of the greatest artists who ever lived.
We invite you on a pilgrimage through 4,000 years of art history. In Spain and the Hispanic World, you’ll witness prehistoric Iberian earthenware, Roman-era sculpture, medieval illuminated manuscripts, Catholic liturgical artifacts, maps from the Age of Exploration, Latin American jewelry, and masterpieces from iconic Spanish artists from across the centuries. Through more than 150 artworks, relics, and antiquities, you will be left in awe of the richness, the majesty, and the glory of Spain and the hispanic world.
Presented for the first time in Utah, this blockbuster exhibition is organized by the Hispanic Society Museum and Library, home of the most extensive Spanish art collection outside of Spain. It opens at the BYU Museum of Art on January 26, 2024.
