Pioneer Theatre Company brings the six-time Tony Award–winning musical Dear Evan Hansen to Utah audiences for the first time, running October 24 through November 8 at the Simmons Pioneer Memorial Theatre. With music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman) and a book by Steven Levenson, the celebrated production tells the moving story of a teenager whose anxiety and longing for connection spark a misunderstanding that spirals into unexpected consequences.
Directed and choreographed by Karen Azenberg, the production features newcomer Kyle Dalsimer as Evan Hansen, alongside Broadway veterans Donna Vivino, Andrew Samonsky, and Marika Aubrey.
As part of a special partnership with the University of Utah School Mental Health Collaborative, the production includes cast workshops on the portrayal of mental health themes and a free public conversation, Strength in Connection: A Conversation About Mental Health in a Hyperconnected World, on Saturday, November 8 at 4:45 PM following the matinee.
