The George S. & Dolores Doré Eccles Gallery at Salt Lake Community College presents LatinArte: Nuestras Raíces (Our Roots), an exhibition celebrating Latinx creativity and cultural expression in Utah. Presented in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Salt Lake City and Artes de México en Utah, the exhibition coincides with the awards ceremony for the 13th Sor Juana Spanish Poetry Contest.

The exhibition showcases the work of twenty-nine local Latinx artists across painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and installation—highlighting the diversity and vitality of Utah’s Latinx arts community.

At the opening reception, $2,250 in prizes were awarded to six participating artists and poets. High school students and adult writers were also honored for their contributions to the Sor Juana Poetry Catalog, a literary tradition that uplifts Spanish-language voices in Utah.
