Modern West presents Under Open Skies, a group exhibition featuring landscapes by Shonto Begay, Angela Ellsworth, Phil Epp, Nathan Florence, Alexandra Fuller, Kiki Gaffney, Ludivine Gérard, Tom Judd, Laura Hope Mason, Kevin Perry, Billy Schenck, Tom Schulte, Woody Shepherd and Eugene Tapahe.
Working across painting, photography, printmaking and other media, the artists use landscape as a guiding inspiration, expressing their appreciation for and connections to the places they call home. The works range from Tom Schulte’s large-scale copper reliefs and Kevin Perry’s photographs of Helper, Utah, to colorful interpretations of the desert by Laura Hope Mason and Billy Schenck and Ludivine Gérard’s abstract explorations of landscape as an evolving structure.
The opening reception takes place Friday, September 18, during Salt Lake Gallery Stroll.
