Closing Reception & Gallery Talk: Friday, November 6, 6–8 p.m.
Gallery East presents Kaleidoscope, a collaborative exhibition by contemporary ceramic artists Dara Hartman and Antra Sinha. Bringing the artists’ work together like the shifting forms inside a kaleidoscope, the exhibition combines color, repeated shapes, geometric patterns and ceramic forms in complementary arrangements.
Hartman’s porcelain sculptures draw inspiration from quilts, toys and clothing lovingly made by her grandmothers—everyday objects that have become treasured family heirlooms. Sinha looks to patterns and structures found in nature, from ocean waves and sunlight on snow to the intense light of a kiln, creating repeated geometric forms and relief patterns that explore the underlying structures shared by the natural world.
A closing reception and gallery talk with Hartman and Sinha will be held November 6 from 6–8 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
