Salt Lake City
September 19 – November 6, 2026
Artist Reception: Saturday, September 19, 4–5:30 p.m.
Inspired by the Surrealist drawing game Exquisite Corpse, this collaborative print project brings together local artists and community members to create a large-scale serpent in celebration of 2025, the Chinese Year of the Snake. Participants carved individual 24-by-24-inch woodblocks, each working from designated starting and ending points without knowing what the complete composition would look like.
Printed together during a community event, the blocks reveal a continuous serpent assembled from many individual artistic approaches. The resulting work embraces chance, surprise and collaboration, demonstrating how distinct creative voices can connect to form an unexpected whole.
