Richard Hull is an illustrator, painter, and educator whose lifelong commitment to drawing began during his childhood on a farm in Washington. After college he worked as a graphic designer and illustrator before joining the faculty of Brigham Young University in 1987, where he taught until his retirement in 2011. Since receiving his first illustration commission in 1970, Hull has created artwork for children’s books, educational publishers, magazines, and publications of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His clients have included major publishers such as Simon & Schuster, Macmillan Publishers, Harcourt Brace, Doubleday, and HarperCollins. His illustrations have been recognized in national competitions and exhibitions sponsored by the Society of Illustrators and Communication Arts.
