Phoebe Davenport

Phoebe Davenport is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Avenues of Salt Lake City. Raised on the Big Island of Hawai‘i—where her mother sewed the family’s clothing by hand and embellished them with seashells collected from the beach—she learned early how to access her creativity and cherish the wildness of nature. That foundation continues to shape her practice today.

Phoebe’s work blends watercolor painting, film photography, dyeing, embroidery, and garment construction, often combining these mediums to create something entirely new. Rooted in magical realism, her art reflects her deep love of mythology, dreams, and symbolism, exploring identity, memory, and the stories that shape us.

Her work is, in many ways, a love letter to her mother, grandmother, and all women whose creativity wasn’t nurtured. Through hand processes and imaginative storytelling, Phoebe brings into form the worlds she once only dreamed about.
