Matt Monsoon

 

Matt Monsoon is a Utah-based artist known for his vibrant murals and imaginative illustrative style. Based out of the historic Guthrie Artist Studios in downtown Salt Lake City since 2009, Matt has completed over 25 large public murals across Utah, from Boulder to Logan. His work blends bold color, characters, nature, and storytelling, evoking a sense of place and community that captivates viewers.

Matt’s resume includes major projects like the murals and sculptural installations for the Kearns Public Library (2019-2020), as well as large-scale works at the VOA Homeless Youth Shelter, Brighton Ski Resort, and Midvale’s historic Main Street. His notable mural, The Migrant and the Moon (65’x30′), earned him a Bronze Medal in the 2023 National Mural Awards.

In addition to public art, Matt’s original works are featured in collections such as the Center for the Arts at Salt Lake Community College, Red Iguana restaurant, the University of Utah, and private collections worldwide. As a member of Salt Lake City’s Pre-Qualified Artists Pool, Matt continues to create inspiring works that celebrate imagination, community, and storytelling.
