Ian Ramsay is a watercolor painter whose landscapes and travel-inspired works reflect decades of observation and exploration. Born in Farnborough, Kent, England, and raised in Britain and Canada before settling in the United States, Ramsay studied architecture at the University of Utah. In 1979 he left architecture to pursue painting full time and has since exhibited extensively throughout the United States, Japan, and Britain. In addition to teaching at the Salt Lake Art Center and leading workshops and demonstrations, Ramsay has earned recognition as a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, an honorary signature member of the Utah Watercolor Society, and a Master Signature Member of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies. His work is represented by galleries in Utah, California, Arizona, and Wyoming.
