Hunter Jackson and Craig Law at Phillips Gallery

Salt Lake City
May 15 – June 13
Gallery Stroll Reception: Friday, May 15, 6-9 pm

Phillips Gallery presents photography by Hunter Jackson and Craig Law in the Main Floor Gallery, bringing together two artists whose practices are rooted in close observation and sustained engagement with landscape, memory, and place. Jackson, who first built a darkroom in 1970 before returning to photography in recent years, uses the medium to explore fleeting moments of emotional and perceptual connection. His work has recently appeared in the Springville Museum of Art Spring Salon and the Eccles Art Center Biennial Black & White Competition. Craig Law, professor emeritus at Utah State University, is widely recognized for his detailed landscape photography and extensive documentation of Indigenous rock art in the American West. His photographs have been exhibited internationally and are held in major museum collections including the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, BYU Museum of Art, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

Concurrent exhibitions in the Dibble Gallery feature ceramics by Utah State University graduates Nikita Nenashev and Caroline Roberts.
