Now in its 32nd year, the Helper Arts Festival transforms historic downtown Helper into a four-day celebration of art, music, film, theater, and community. The festival features a gallery stroll, live music on multiple stages, artist and food vendors, independent films at the Rio Theatre, theatrical performances, a classic car show, and the Carbon Shortcuts film initiative. The festival also includes its acclaimed En Plein Air competition, with painters working throughout Carbon County leading up to a reception and awards ceremony on Friday evening, followed by a Quick Draw competition on Saturday. Rooted in Helper’s transformation from mining town to arts destination, the festival highlights local and regional artists while offering a full weekend of cultural programming.
