SALT LAKE CITY
October 8–November 20, 2026
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 8, 5–7 p.m.
In this solo exhibition, Arash Shoveiri presents large-scale surreal oil paintings that place archetypal and possibly supernatural figures from different historical and geographic contexts alongside contemporary technologies. The works explore shared histories and possible futures while considering forces beyond human comprehension. Ancient-looking stone figures appear alongside VR goggles, connective cables, deserts, and modern cityscapes, bringing historical imagery into conversation with the technologies and systems shaping contemporary life, including the internet, attention economies, and artificial intelligence.
