Between Symbols and Stories: A Mid-Career Retrospective Megan Knobloch Geilman at St. George Art Museum

ST. GEORGE
June 6 – August 22, 2026
Opening Reception: June 6, 6–7 p.m.

The St. George Museum of Art presents the first major retrospective of work by Megan Knobloch Geilman, bringing together a broad selection of the artist’s meticulously constructed digital compositions. Drawing from contemporary social issues, art history, mythology, and narratives connected to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Geilman creates richly layered images that invite sustained looking and interpretation.

Each work is the result of an extensive collaborative process, often requiring four to eight months to complete. Combining photography, staging, costume, symbolism, and digital manipulation, Geilman builds complex visual narratives that balance historical reference with contemporary concerns. Widely exhibited throughout Utah, Southern California, and New York, the artist has established a distinctive practice that merges conceptual rigor with theatrical imagination. This exhibition offers the most comprehensive presentation of her work to date.
