Michael Kessler debuts a new series of abstract paintings that continue his exploration of the intersection of organic forms and geometric structure. Built through a meticulous process of pouring, scraping, sanding, and layering translucent acrylic on panel, the works reveal biomorphic shapes that emerge from luminous fields of color. Inspired by the landscape of New Mexico, Kessler’s compositions draw on the rhythms of branches, leaves, and cellular forms, balancing spontaneous gesture with carefully ordered structure. The resulting paintings pulse with energy while maintaining a meditative sense of harmony.
Born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Kessler received his BFA from Kutztown University and has exhibited widely in the United States and internationally. He lives and works in New Mexico.
