Deadline: November 20, 2026

The City of Orem is accepting applications for its inaugural Writer-in-Residence program, open to writers of fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry for adult, teen or children’s audiences. The selected writer will receive a $10,000 stipend, plus up to $3,000 for travel, lodging and expenses and up to $2,000 for editorial assistance or a manuscript workshop, while completing a six-week residency in Orem between February and June 2027.

The residency includes public events, programming for Orem Public Library patrons and consultations with local writers. Applicants must be 18 or older, legally eligible to work in the United States and demonstrate a history of publication within the past five years.
