Reception: Thursday, October 22, 4:30–7 p.m.
The Alvin Gittins Gallery presents an exhibition celebrating the life and work of painter John O’Connell. The exhibition brings together O’Connell’s paintings as an opportunity for family, friends and the broader community to share memories and reflect on his life and artistic practice. O’Connell came to painting later in life after studying engineering and working in construction and music, eventually pursuing art studies and developing a sustained painting practice. The exhibition is presented as a gathering around his work and legacy.
