John Hughes Paints a Snow Scene

John Hughes has been writing for our Hints & Tips column for over three years now, providing advice on everything from painting in the snow to choosing an easel to how to get out of an artist rut. We decided it was finally time to see him in action. So in January, while the valley was covered in a blanket of smog and snow plows scraped the streets, Dale Thompson visited his West Valley studio to watch him paint a winter landscape and discuss his process.

  1. Fantastic to have a glimpse into John’s studio. I recommend his workshops (some may call it bootcamp) but he expects you to GET serious!
