In this exhibition of oil paintings, Hunter Bailey examines consumer culture, technology, and contemporary life through images of cars, heavy machinery, mattresses, and other familiar objects. Drawing inspiration from the material culture of the 1990s and early 2000s, Bailey reflects on a time when mechanical knowledge and self-reliance were more commonplace. His paintings consider how advancing technology has transformed everyday life, raising questions about dependence, autonomy, and the search for meaning.
