Salt Lake City
October 17 – November 7, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 17, 6–9 p.m.
Curated by Yuri Ortiz, Hyperconsumption brings together Mexican and American artists Nolan Flynn, Paxton Morgan, Alix Wright, Michel Cárdenas, Angel VHS and Will Wolf in a conversation about contemporary cultures of excess. Taking as its starting point philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky’s conception of a society governed by “too much”—too many objects, images and information; too much tourism, luxury and stimulation—the exhibition asks what happens when art steps back from a culture of disposability.
