ChatGPT, Tell Me What to Do With This Pain — Sara Luna at BDAC

Bountiful
July 31 – August 28, 2026

In ChatGPT, Tell Me What to Do With This Pain, fiber artist Sara Luna presents a deeply personal body of work created over the course of a year marked by grief, loss, and transformation. Framed as a conversation between the artist and ChatGPT, the exhibition traces Luna’s experiences of the end of a relationship, the decline of her father, and the complexities of living far from her native Chile. As the dialogue unfolds, the work shifts from seeking answers toward healing, community, and renewal.

Working exclusively with hand-spun and hand-dyed wool, Luna creates woven and stitched portraits that reflect her belief that every stage of making—from sourcing and dyeing fiber to weaving and stitching—is part of the artwork itself. Drawing on South American textile traditions, her labor-intensive process becomes an act of remembrance as well as transformation, translating personal experience into tactile form.

Born and raised in Chile, Luna studied Visual Arts and Digital Illustration before relocating to the United States in 2018. Her work explores identity, migration, grief, memory, and the stories people carry within themselves through richly crafted textile works.
