Spencer Budd is a Utah–based artist whose work engages both traditional and contemporary approaches to form. He holds a BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University and an MFA in Painting from Utah State University. While he works across a wide range of subjects and media, his current focus is sculpture—particularly figurative work made from life. His practice is guided by the belief that learning is itself an artistic pursuit, and that the language of art can hold abstraction, simplification, and conceptual thought within the same frame. He teaches sculpture at Utah Valley University and gymnastics at Brigham Young University.
