Salt Lake City
August 13 – December 23, 2026
Opening Reception: August 13, 6–8 p.m.
Salt Lake Community College presents Archive in the Wild, an immersive installation by Salt Lake City–based mixed media artist and SLCC student Izzy Beauchesne, who works professionally as De Izzy. Built from reclaimed, secondhand, and discarded materials, the exhibition transforms everyday objects into intimate environments that explore memory, family, sustainability, and humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
Inspired by childhood experiences creating miniature worlds from natural materials and later shaped by her work with Utah Arts Alliance’s Dreamscapes, Beauchesne creates installations that celebrate transformation and renewal. Skeletons, greenery, vintage film, reclaimed technology, and other found objects become “living archives” that invite reflection on mortality, remembrance, and the enduring connections between generations. While deeply personal in origin, the work is intentionally open-ended, encouraging viewers to consider the memories they carry and the cycles that shape every stage of life.
Venue: The Call Box, Center for Arts & Media, East Lobby (Edna Runswick Taylor Foyer), Salt Lake Community College – South City Campus
Address: 1575 S. 200 E., Salt Lake City, UT 84115
