Six Stories, One Future at SLCC

SALT LAKE CITY
June 4 – July 3, 2026

Opening Reception: Thursday, June 4, 5–7 p.m.

Created in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Salt Lake Community College’s Partnership for Accessing College Education (PACE) Scholarship Program, Six Stories, One Future is a collaborative mural and artifact exhibition bringing together the voices of students from six Salt Lake County high schools. Led by multidisciplinary artist and SLCC alumnus Pablo Cruz-Ayala, the project translates individual stories into a unified visual narrative that reflects both personal identity and collective aspiration.

Developed through a series of workshops, the exhibition’s centerpiece is a 360-degree panoramic mural composed of six interconnected sections created by students from Cottonwood, East, Granger, Highland, Kearns, and West High Schools. Each school contributed its own panel, reflecting the experiences, histories, and ambitions of its students. Where the panels meet, the imagery intertwines, emphasizing mutual support and shared purpose while illustrating how diverse communities can shape a common future through creative collaboration. Artifacts and supporting materials provide additional insight into the process and stories behind the work.

Following its exhibition at South City Campus, the mural will become a permanent installation at the PACE headquarters.
