Young Benefactors, the featured arts organization in this month’s edition of 15 Bytes, isn’t the only collectors-oriented group at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. The UMFA is also happy to let lovers of Utah & Western art buy art for their collection. Friends of Utah & Western Art (FUWA) "celebrates and supports the growth of the UMFA’s collections, while encouraging the enthusiasm of collectors locally and acros the nation."
The organization has two level of memberships, a basic FUWA membership of $250 and the Council Membership of $500. Both memberships include subscriptions to the FUWA Quarterly ezine, admission to one lecture per year by a Western author of note, admission to two lectures per year by regional historians, scholars and collectors and participation in in-state tours designed to expand one’s knowledge of Utah art and history. The Council membership level includes an annual consultation with the curator of Utah and Western art, preferred seating at lectures, and invitations to participate in out-of-state tours to Western museums, private collections and auctions.
