Justin Taylor’s Portraits Recognized

Work by Justin Taylor

Utah’s Justin Taylor was recently recognized by the Portrait Society of America. His piece, “What to Make of It” (24 x 24 oil on canvas) was chosen, from among 1200 entrants, as 20 finalists for the Society’s conference in Philadelphia this April. Taylor, a native of Las Vegas, earned his BFA at Brigham Young University and now teaches painting there as well as at Utah Valley University. Upon hearing the news of the piece’s place as a finalist, the artist wrote on his blog ” I’m completely shocked, totally grateful for the opportunity to show there, and I just cant believe it. Especially when I know what caliber of portrait painters are out there.”

Justin Taylor is represented locally by Terzian Galleries in Park City.

The Portrait Society of America’s conference will be held April 10-13th.
