The Sting & Honey Company Presents Chekhov’s The Seagull
From September 13 to 28, 2024, The Sting & Honey Company will bring Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull to life at the Regent Street Black Box in Salt Lake City. Directed by Javen Tanner, this production explores the timeless themes of love, ambition, and artistic frustration in Chekhov’s beautiful, hilarious, and heartbreaking masterpiece. Set amid the weariness of country life, the play follows the famous actress Arkadina, her son Konstantin, and the aspiring actress Nina, whose fates become entangled in a web of desperate love and dreams of success. Les Roka of The Utah Review praises the production, noting, “With solid acting across the board, the production…nicely shines the spotlight on the play’s comedic potential without zealously ramping up the inevitable tragedy of its psychological drama.” Don’t miss this powerful exploration of human emotion and the complexities of life.
