Artist Statement
“In this piece is the Chinese character “我” (pronounced “wuo”) which means “I” or “myself.” The piece is done in a style similar to a work of traditional chinese calligraphy, but I left out certain marks in the character and made it look almost illegible. The piece is about my effort in seeking identity growing up in the very different Eastern and Western culture.”
