you don’t live here anymore — Maddison Colvin at Alma Gallery

PROVO

September 4–26

Alma Gallery – 274 W Center, Provo, UT

Maddison Colvin presents a series of paintings centered on memory, place and the ways recollection changes over time. Colvin describes memory as a “deer track,” a path that becomes broader and less distinct each time it is revisited. The paintings explore that instability through scenes of gardens, figures and familiar environments that appear both recognizable and elusive, reflecting on the difficulty of returning to a place or experience through memory.

Reception: Friday, September 4, 6–9 p.m.
