Border & Square, the beloved Provo-based framing shop known for its handcrafted custom work, is expanding into a new space that will include a gallery for local art and community events. Founded in 2018 by Kheng Lim, a passionate woodworker and art enthusiast, the business has grown from a 200-square-foot studio behind a house to a 650-square-foot garage workshop staffed by a four-person team.
Soon, it will have an even bigger space. The new location, at 125 W 500 South in Provo (formerly occupied by Thread Wallets), is currently undergoing a full renovation. Once open (projected mid-May), it will feature exhibition space for local artists and a reinvigorated production area for the team’s custom framing projects.
“We’ve been busy with renovations and can’t wait to open doors soon!” the team shared. “We’re creating a space that’s not just about frames, but about fostering local creativity and connection.”
