He holds a PhD in the History of Art from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">University College London<\/span><\/span> and a Master\u2019s in Fine and Decorative Arts from <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sotheby\u2019s Institute of Art<\/span><\/span>. Over the past twenty-five years, he has conducted research in archives and museums across Europe and the United States, including the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Museo del Prado<\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay<\/span><\/span>, and the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/span><\/span>.
