The project aims to enliven the city’s parks, trails, and open spaces through a series of sculptural installations funded by the voter-approved Parks, Trails & Open Space General Obligation (GO) Bond.

Recommended by the Salt Lake Art Design Board and approved by Mayor Erin Mendenhall in spring 2025, the artists were chosen from the city’s 2023–2025 Pre-Qualified Artist Pool. Each will design a sculptural model to be fabricated into five bronze or steel replicas, for a total of 20 sculptures installed across all seven City Council districts.

The works—celebrating joy, play, and the wonder of nature—will link parks and open spaces throughout the city. Installation is expected to begin in summer 2026. The Unifying Artworks project is supported by the GO Bond’s 1.5% public art allocation, which also funds future commissions for Glendale Park, Fleet Block Public Open Space, Warm Springs & North Gateway Parks, and Donner Trail Park.

The selected artists bring a wide range of experience to the project: Jann Haworth, an internationally recognized Pop Art pioneer, is known for collaborative public murals celebrating women’s history; Lenka Konopasek, a Czech-born artist, explores the intersection of human-made and natural forces through sculptural and mixed-media works; Trent Call, a Salt Lake City native, blends academic painting with street art and comics in a style that bridges fine art and pop culture; and Jason Manley, a sculptor and installation artist, integrates text, material experimentation, and conceptual depth in his public works across the U.S.

    Jann Haworth

    Jason Manley

    Lenka Konopasek

    Trent Call

Renderings of the artists’
