But how and where?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In a backroom at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, a dozen children wearing smocks were busily painting and chatting away as executive director Laura Allred Hurtado showed me and a photographer around the indistinct building, sandwiched between the Salt Palace Convention Center and Abravanel Hall in downtown Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The kids were immersed in the museum\u2019s artist-training program, where they get to explore arts techniques and mediums, visit artist studios, learn about contemporary art and make messes and mistakes along the way, as the course description reads.
