They&#8217;ll be leaving their long-time space at the historic David Keith Building on Salt Lake&#8217;s Main Street later this month. And like anyone who has to move, their not eager to pack up and transport all their books, so they are having a sale: 20% off used and rare; 30% off 10 used or rare and 50% off the new sale section.<\/p>\n<p>To mark the passage from one phase to the next of Utah&#8217;s largest bookstore, Stephanie Leitch spent the weekend hanging <em>Passage: A Tribute to Place<\/em>, a farewell exhibition\u00a0 exploring themes of passage-as transition, architecture and the written word. The exhibit features new site-specific works by Jared Clark, Cara Despain, Tessa Lindsay, Brian Patterson, Claire Taylor and Patrick Weeks. The exhibit is up through November 5th.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t find what you&#8217;re looking for at Sam Weller, you should try the semi-annual Friends of the Library booksale at the Salt Lake Main Library (in the basement). On Monday hardbacks are $.50 and paperback $.25. On Tuesday fill a bag with books for just $5.<\/p>\n<p>Once the library unloads all their books, they&#8217;ll be getting ready for the Utah Book Awards. Finalists for the Utah Book Awards in the Fiction, Non-Fiction, and Poetry categories will be reading passages from their works on Wednesday, October 19 (7-9pm, 4th floor).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiction Finalists:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Danse Macabre<\/em> by Gerald Elias<br \/>\n<em>The Summer Son<\/em> by Craig Lancaster<br \/>\n<em>Sarah\/Sara<\/em> by Jacob Paul<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nonfiction Finalists:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Becoming Pablo O&#8217;Higgins<\/em> by Susan Vogel<br \/>\n<em>Quotidiana<\/em> by Patrick Madden<br \/>\n<em>Traces of Fremont<\/em> by Steven R.
