Yet while we think we know what that landscape looks like\u2014and what we\u00a0<i>expect<\/i>\u00a0it to look like\u2014that idea is one shaped by a wide range of factors. And that idea can even determine how we decide what a particular place is &#8220;worth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"cwb\">Currently on display at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art,\u00a0<i>Expected Image<\/i>\u00a0finds the artistic collective Everything Is Collective\u2014made up of UMOCA marketing &amp; graphic design staffer Zachary Norman, Texas-based Aaron Hegert and Chicago-based Jason Lukas\u2014exploring in part the way the Bureau of Land Management&#8217;s Visual Resource Management (VRM) system determines the scenic value of America&#8217;s public lands. According to visionary artist Lunares (she\/they), weeping is a powerful and universal vehicle of transformation and healing\u2014a theme they are exploring in their first solo exhibition\u00a0<i>L\u00e1grimas: Rain, Glitter\u00a0<\/i>at\u00a0<i>Mestizo Institute of Culture and Arts (MICA)<\/i>. Emotionally stirring and visually stimulating, the showcase is a marvelous display of the vulnerability and strength that lies within tears.<\/p>\n<p>Running from February 24 to March 30,\u00a0<i>L\u00e1grimas: Rain, Glitter\u00a0<\/i>is a testament to Lunares\u2019 skills as multimedia artist. No stranger to international acclaim, Lunares has had work highlighted by several international brands, such as Disney, HBO and Hulu. Nevertheless, Lunares continues to return to Utah. Originally from Mexico City, Lunares has spent two decades living in Salt Lake City, becoming a pillar of the local arts scene.
