They are a 23 year old student at the University of Utah, studying Fine Arts and Psychology. They are a multi-dimensional artist with a background in painting, drawing, photography and digital mediums. Noelle is interested in capturing the human form in their work, exploring the dynamic between a piece of art and its audience. They are inspired by vulnerability, intimacy and introspection and what these mean in terms of their own self acceptance. They aim to illustrate life in their art, but also love, sadness, fear, joy, contentment, and painexperiences that are so essential to the human condition.

ARTIST STATEMENT
My paintings explore the themes of vulnerability and raw emotion that are so essential to the human condition. The visceral quality imparts the idea of intense intimacy and closeness- and the animalistic feelings that come with it. Being just a breath away puts the viewer face to face with the grotesque, yet beautiful nature of the human body- forcing one to look even closer. My canvases beg to be suffocated as I use paint to pervade every inch with a wet fleshiness. I pair a limited color palette with elements of play and whimsy to illustrate the connection to my inner child. In its entirety, the work I create takes a look into my own existence, noting my progression towards self- acceptance and my capacity to feel.

LINKS
https://www.instagram.com/_loverb0yy/

IMAGES

“Noelle Margetts, “you see me,”
