SMU DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research announced the seventh iteration of their Arts Vibrancy Index Report at the conclusion of 2022. Salt Lake City made the list for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/culturaldata.org\/arts-vibrancy-2022\/executive-summary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">READ MORE<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Courtesy Utah Division of Arst &amp; Museums:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Last month, Congress unveiled its FY23 omnibus appropriations package to fund the federal government for next year. The recommendations include a 15% funding increase to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) of $27 million each, bringing them both up to an all-time budget high of $207 million. Equity and diversity grant-making recommendations are included in the language that accompanies this funding. Additionally, a $26.8 million increase to the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) was proposed. President Biden signed the FY23 omnibus appropriations bill on December 29.<\/p>\n<p>Here in Utah, Governor Cox has proposed increased funding for Utah Arts &amp; Museums. Thank you, Governor Cox! Larsen has been with the museum since 2006, most recently as Associate Director. Larsen graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors of Arts and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Utah. In 2020 she was\u00a0named Museum Educator of the Year by the Utah Art Education Association. He earned his doctorate in the History of Art from University College London. He received his Masters in Fine Art from Sotheby\u2019s Institute (London).\u00a0 He is currently a partner at Anthony\u2019s Fine Art &amp; Antiques (Salt Lake City) and a Board Member of the Springville Museum of Art. He regularly lectures on continues to lecture, write, and consult with public institutions and private collectors. He is a co-author of the Dictionary of Utah Fine Artists. Micah currently sits on the Advisory Board of PleinAir Magazine.
