7\/23:<\/strong> loveDANCEmore<\/a> announces that Arin Lynn will replace Samuel Hanson as editor of the dance publication. “As I leave the position, I would like to thank our talented writers, as well as the artists whose work we’ve catalogued and critiqued in over 250 articles, reviews and digest pieces,” Hanson writes in a press release. “I also want to thank the many photographers who volunteer their time to document dance \u2014 both for our publication and for dance companies and independent producers across our state. If you haven\u2019t already, I encourage you to take a look at our virtual exhibition, Through the Eyes of a Dancer<\/em><\/a>, a collaboration with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. We hope to present this exhibition, which celebrates Utah dance photography, in a gallery show in 2023 or 2024.”<\/p>\n

7\/22:<\/strong> Episode Two of Art Elevated: The Governor’s Mansion Artist Awards premiered on Friday<\/a>.\u00a0Meet painter Fidalis Buehler and the Washington sisters from Ogden’s Good Company Theatre.
\nArt is a quest to know thyself\u201d is an idea embodied by each artist in this episode. Fidalis Buehler explores themes of heritage and belonging through his paintings, and teaches students to harness the nuances of their own identities. Alicia and Camille Washington founded Good Company Theatre to bring inclusive plays to their native Ogden, turning their passion for equity in the arts into reality.<\/p>\n

7\/21 The Arte Laguna Prize announced Utah artist Beth Krensky<\/a> \u00a0is a finalist for the 2023 award and will exhibit at the Arsenale of Venice from March 11 to April 16, 2023.”Beth Krensky is a gatherer of things (objects, words, spirit) and a connector of fragments, to make us whole. Artist, activist and educator, she is a professor of art education and Area Head of Art Teaching at the University of Utah. Her work is intended to provoke reflection about what is happening in our world as well as to create a vision of what is possible.”<\/p>\n

7\/19:<\/strong> Framework Arts and Art\/Inter\/Acst Present Aisha Lehmann<\/p>\n

Framework Arts and art educator Megan Hallett have developed art\/inter\/acts \u2013 a series of short films featuring young Utah artists. Their most recent film features Lehmann. These films invite teachers and students to use contemporary art practices and objects as sources of inspiration for observation, discussion, and hands-on production. Framework Arts is a project-based, curriculum-building organization that engages youth, educators, and the public throughout the community in creating and representing personal narratives.<\/p>\n
