In addition to all the star-sightings and &#8220;independent&#8221; films featuring Hollywood actors that will be the focus of much of the attention at Sundance, the festival has some exciting, if\u00a0 less-heralded aspects: the shorts, which you rarely see in theatres, the films from around the world, and the fabulous array of documentary films.<\/p>\n<p>In anticipation of Sundance, this month&#8217;s edition of 15 Bytes features a video interview with Jan Andrews, a local filmmaker and video artist. Our interview features two clips from the video art that won Andrews a Utah Division of Arts &amp; Museums Fellowship in 2010. On its website, the Utah Division of Arts &amp; Museums features a page on Utah filmmakers; their entry on Andrews showcases her 1997 film <em>In Suspect Terrain<\/em>, which uses &#8220;choreography as the narrative structure,&#8221; to meditate &#8220;on the caprices of memory and the disjunctions of the self when the brain has been injured by accident (amnesia) or disease (schizophrenia).&#8221; It features movement from dancers Gary Vlasic and Linda Smith.
