The year was 2003, and the Salt Lake Gallery Association was celebrating 20 years of Gallery Stroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Ogden, Gallery 25<\/a>, a co-op gallery which had launched in 2002, was joined by Artstop Ogden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Terra Nova <\/a>opened in Provo.<\/p>\n

In Salt Lake City’s Millcreek neighborhood, Evergreen Art and Frame<\/a> built a new space for exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Bingham Gallery<\/a> moved from Sugar House to downtown Salt Lake City. Karen Horne opened Horne Fine Art<\/a> downtown as well. And Left Bank became New Visions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not content with the traditional gallery model, artists were taking things to the streets<\/a> in SLC with Mainly Art<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our Hints ‘n’ Tips feature was discussing other ways artists could expose themselves<\/a>. (Granted this was back in the day when we would talk to you about the importance of postcards<\/a> rather than social media.)<\/p>\n

We launched our Inside the Vault series<\/a>. And became crime fighters when we helped publicize the theft of a painting by Stewart Anstead<\/a> (and were responsible for its recovery two years later!<\/a>)<\/p>\n
