This month we bring you\u00a0Rose Nelson, SLC-based poet and artist. They are an active member of the <em>Wanting <span class=\"markbkt566ml7\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">to<\/span> <span class=\"markrf34nbpn5\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Die<\/span> Poetry Club<\/em>, a group that celebrates and promotes the work of local poets and artists.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>if you touch the roof of my mouth with your finger tip you could win a prize<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp; <\/h4>\n<h4>granted, it would just be another lie<\/h4>\n<h4>like the time I told you my tongue would cure your headache<\/h4>\n<h4>or that time you said I was kind<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>my radiator exploded<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>dirt water \u2014 out of my home\u2019s bronze tit<\/h4>\n<h4>the great indoor weather event<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>when we heard our landlord was dead<\/h4>\n<h4>we both saw him just\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 expiring<\/h4>\n<h4>in his kitchen<\/h4>\n<h4>next to the counter full of cigarettes, prescription pills, and cat hair<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>we had no heat for eleven days<\/h4>\n<h4>and he died on his motorcycle<\/h4>\n<h4>not at home<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>and it was several months after he died that the radiator just cracked<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>his house\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 in shock<\/h4>\n<h4>before starting to mourn<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>your overwhelming desire for a woman-shaped thing <\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>you tell me, in a long and roundabout way,<\/h4>\n<h4>that you want to masturbate into a woman-shaped thing<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>but that the woman part is being difficult- it lets you know<\/h4>\n<h4>that your ardent desire to masturbate into it is inadequate, somehow<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>this frightens you<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>you wonder, out loud, why these woman-shaped things will not allow you<\/h4>\n<h4>to masturbate into them<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>you say that you would take any woman-shaped thing- any at all<\/h4>\n<h4>so why, you ask, are there no woman-shaped things that want you to masturbate into them<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>even an ugly one, you say, even an ugly woman-shaped thing would be enough<\/h4>\n<h4>so long as you could masturbate into it<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>you wonder, again out loud<\/h4>\n<h4>using the word \u2018sex\u2019 like it means something to you<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>humblebrag<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>that quarter-second noise you make when you cum<\/h4>\n<h4>half-surprised and sweaty<\/h4>\n<h4>clutching a winning horse ticket<\/h4>\n<h4>and saying what a hard race it was<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>waiting on the Wasatch Fault<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>sometimes the TRAX car shakes my home<\/h4>\n<h4>and I wake up sure that it is here<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>that earthly tremor-<\/h4>\n<h4>the valley in orgasm<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;<\/h4>\n<h4>some times the build up starts early in the morning<\/h4>\n<h4>and I feel the mountains tense their legs beneath me<\/h4>\n<h4>and the scaly animal in my chest<\/h4>\n<h4>starts to shiver and molt<\/h4>\n<h4>&nbsp;
