Durham is the Executive Director of Utah Chamber Artists\u00a0and has sung with the professional ensemble since it began in 1991. She received an M.A. in Musicology from the University of Utah and was the first director of the School of Music\u2019s Virtuoso Series at Libby Gardner Concert Hall \u2013 a celebrity classical series featuring internationally acclaimed artists.She comes from a rich musical background and currently lives in Sandy with her husband Thomas Durham. She is the mother of three grown children and has five grandchildren. She loves the fact that they also love music.\u00a0<span class=\"interview\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/><span class=\"byline\">What hangs above your mantel?<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/>One of three paintings (that I proudly own) by Shawn Rossiter. It is a wonderful oil painting of an Italian landscape.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/><span class=\"byline\">What is your favorite building in Utah?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/>I have always loved the\u00a0Peteetneet School\u00a0in Payson Utah. My parents and grandparents went there and when viewing it as a young girl I always thought it looked very magical sitting high above the town. It was built in 1901 and named for Ute Indian Chief Peteeneet. If you ever visit, it\u2019s now a museum and cultural arts center \u2013 look for the stone carvings of a boy and girl on the opposite sides of the west entrance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/><span class=\"byline\">What are you reading?<i><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artistsofutah.org\/15bytes\/images\/0sp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0I usually read a few books simultaneously, but the one that I\u2019m spending the most time with right now is\u00a0<em>Wolf Hall<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=artistsofutah-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0805080686\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/em>. It\u2019s a Man Booker prize-winner by Hilary Mantel centered on Henry VIII\u2019s reign. By the time I\u2019m finished I hope to be able to keep all his \u201cThomas\u2019s\u201d straight: Moore, Cromwell, Cranmer, and there may be one more \u2013 oh wait\u2026that\u2019s my husband.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n<nav class=\"postnav\"><\/nav>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rebecca C.
