I am very much a mountain and outdoor person and so living here has fed my work in a wonderful way. This has been a fantastic year job wise, as well. I now work at Weber State University\u00a0in Ogden\u00a0as an adjunct professor and get to meet other professional artists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pedroza\u00a0received her\u00a0BFA at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, her MFA\u00a0at Cal State Long Beach and says \u201cit has been a bit rough moving away from all my art friends and network in Southern California.\u00a0 I do not know many people out here and I am trying to find my place in the Utah art scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31620\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31619\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31623\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31622\">Her work\u00a0has been shown nationally in group shows throughout California, New York, Florida, Washington, Nevada, Oregon, Illinois, and Wisconsin, and Pedroza\u00a0also has participated in shows internationally in Italy, and Denmark at the<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0Roennebaeksholm Arts and Culture Center.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31625\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1514091335712_31627\">\u201cAlthough my work often time deals with the interplay of humans and nature, and what may occur as a response, in my most recent works I have been transitioning into exploring my relationship with nature in a more spiritual, emotional, and subconscious way.\u00a0 It has always been the beauty, strength, and complexities of nature that have drawn me to it as a major theme in my work,\u201d Pedroza says.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/artistsofutah.org\/15Bytes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_5221.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44668\" src=\"http:\/\/artistsofutah.org\/15Bytes\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_5221-640x800.jpg\"  alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is \u00a0Ya\u2019el Pedroza\u2019s third winter in Utah\u00a0and, \u201csince moving I have been very prolific in making art.
