The traditional practice of painting \u201cen plein air\u201d and the quest for suitable motifs to capture Utah\u2019s terrain will be discussed by three contemporary artists: Patricia Kimball, Hadley Rampton, and Michael Workman.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 27<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>SLC<br \/>\n\u201cPsychology and the Arts\u201d at the Leonardo<\/strong>, 7:30-8:30, where the invited speaker<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is Margaret R. Tarampi, Ph.D.<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0 a visual artist whose work is influenced by her psychological research.\u00a0 She is an associate instructor in psychology at the University of Utah and a research associate in the Center for Spatial Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Tarampi will present her research and creative work related to architecture, art and dance. For years, the Krishna Temple there has been the\u00a0 place to go to become a living splash of color. Last year, Ogden got in on the fun, and the event returns this Saturday,\u00a0 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at West Stadium Park (1650 Jefferson Ave, Ogden, UT 84404). It&#8217;s supposed to be about burning out the evil and starting afresh, but mostly it&#8217;s about throwing powdered dust at each other. A change of clothes is recommended for the ride home. A particulate mask wouldn&#8217;t be a bad idea either.
